28.1.14 instruMENTAL-MICHAEL VINER'S INCREDIBLE BONGO BAND

Need something to bob you're head to? Feet getting bored of standing so still ? Look no further my friends. Clearly it's time to bring out the bongos, and there is no better than the

Michael Viner's Incredible Bongo Band

{appropriately called.} Michael is from MGM Records and started this shindig up in 72 with some random peeps. Infact, the band has never had any official members, just bums that like to jam. You may already know them, they've covered a lot of classic 70s' songs, most famous being Apache - written by Jerry Lordan

Which song was made famous by Jorgen Ingmann in North Amerricah

and the Shadows in the UK

All delicious options.
But nowadahhs, Incredible Bongo Band is mainly used in hip-hop and drum & bass. But that doesn't mean people of the world shouldn't still listen to them on their own.  skeet skeet

27.1.13 THROWBACK, OUTKAST, 2006 IDLEWILD

Dirty Southern jazz, previously known as Two Shades Deep, OutKast. Das Right Mothanuckks

For all ya'lls that don't know, AndrĂ© 3000 and Big Boi started hitting it off in 1992. They bumming around Georgia throwing jazz, R&B, electro, funk, soul, blues, and just some overall delicious shenanigans together that just makes your legs combust into uncontrollable jive.

Everyone knows OutKast for their 'Hey ya' single and 'Roses.' Both boomin' songs. But I think a lot of people are missing out on what OutKast really is.

Their first album southernplayalisticadillacmuzik that came out in '94 has so much funk and babymakingmusic in it, it's almost silly. With southern slanging and telling life as black kids surviving in the south, it's not only happiness for the ears, but educational for the mind-brain.

Then there's, ATliens. It's intro sets the tone so beautifully, as sweet as fleetwood with lovin' spoonful thrown in. Ferkin genius.

Then it takes a hard turn with two dope boyz in a cadillac .
Yeeeeeh son.
But one of my flavorite albums that I think is overlooked, Idlewild. Came out in 2006 with an accompanied film. That's right, OutKast has a dog damn film.

But more importantly, the album, is Dank. As. Funk.
It's got soul, jazz, R&B and plenty of southern Blues.
My favourite song from it, Idlewild Blue (Don'chu Worry 'Bout Me)

It was produced with LaFace records, who they started off with at the beginning. The album has 25 eargasmic tuneage, including one song that's mainly Big Boi featured with Sleepy Brown & Scar called Morris Brown. That song also features the Morris Brown University's Marching Band (hence the name, ya dig) Peaches, The Train, Mutron Angel, is alll good. I mean The Guardian, Rolling Stone, Uncut and Q magazine all gave the album four outta five, which ain't too shabby.

Long story short, Check it.
